Western Fuel was founded in 1985 by Craig Lamont as an independent local oil distribution company based in Taunton. Since then, we have grown into one of the South West’s leading independent fuel suppliers.
The company started with 1 tanker and has steadily grown over the years to a fleet of 26 with over 50 staff in 2025.
Western Fuel has built an excellent reputation as a competitive and reliable distributor of residential, commercial and agricultural fuel across the region.
No quantity is too small or too large. We deliver the fuel you need directly to your door, with emergency top-up options available when timing is critical.

1985 to 1998
Craig and Angela Lamont launched Western Counties Fuel Oils, expanded operations in Somerset, and rebranded as Western Fuel in 1998.
